What are V-Shaped Valleys?
V-Shaped Valleys are shaped when the river erodes downwards as boulders, stone and rock particles are bounced and scraped along the channel bed. This is done when the water rushes against the rocks and breaks them, taking it along with the current. The flat riverbank is then weakened further by weathering and then after a period of time, the soil loosens and crumbles into the river bed. The slopes then resemble a V-shape, hence the name V-Shaped Valley.
